New Store Outlet in Clarksburg Maryland | Project Approved
There is a lot of confusion among Clarksburg Maryland residents. .
About the New Store Outlets projects
There were two applications in: One form Tanger Outlets and the other one from Simon Property Group.
Tanger Outlets lost
Simon Property Group won!
"Tanger announced it was abandoning its proposed project in Montgomery County as well as one in Scottsdale, AZ" according to the Washington Business Journal
Apparently Tanger Factory Outlets Centers Inc. has decided to can the project bringing their business into Clarksburg Maryland.
After a long hard fight with city and county leaders, after spending 1.6 million dollars for pre-development costs., they threw the towel in and wished they never heard of Clarksburg Maryland and Ten Mile Creek (a huge reason for their expense)
This maybe bad news for Tanger Factory Outlets but good news for Clarksburg Residents.
It is good news because the company that won named Simon Property Group they specialize in high premium outlet centers in teh US and the quality of its stores are above Tangers.
The new Clarksburg Premium Outlets Center from Simon Property Group will be located just outside exit #18 Clarksburg - Boyds exit on I-270
Simon Propert Group says..."we will be open for business on Spring 2016!"
Let's break in the champagne for a new neighborhood as well.
Cabin Branch Homes in Boyds / Clarksburg will be located right next to the Outlet Center.

In addition, a new outlet center shopping area was offered to the city planners for their consideration.
Surrounded by natural wooded rolling hills and a short walk away from Black Hill and Little Seneca Regional Park, this area indeed. .it was the best possible location for this huge undertaking.
The Clarksburg community has voiced the need for more shopping and dining options for many years. .
Clarksburg Premium Outlets at Cabin Branch was a proposal that offered to build an inviting, attractive and pedestrian-friendly shopping and dining destination that will be a true, long-term asset to the community.
Among other benefits that was offered. .an exciting new outdoor green amphitheater and beautifully landscaped promenades.
Finally, the permit was granted with some litmitations for the builders and the outlet center will be starting construction in the Spring of 2015 . Construction will take approximatley a year and it will include many fine designer clothes brand stores, restaurants and many "green" areas for family and friends to gather and delight in local outdoor concerts and performances.
Imagine the experience of living a short walk away from an Outlet Center....here come Cabin Branch homes located right next to teh Outlet Center
